CV263 (“we”, “us”) is a CV and cover-letter builder operated by Fignoc Technologies, Harare, Zimbabwe. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with Zimbabwe’s Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07]. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

Information we collect

Account details — your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google (not your password).
CV & cover-letter content — the information you enter or import: contact details, work history, education, skills, referees and anything else you add to a document.
Payment information — handled by Paynow. We record which plan you bought and when, but we never see or store your EcoCash/OneMoney number or card details.
Technical & usage data — basic information such as your IP address, device/browser type and how you use the service, mostly via essential cookies.

How we use your information

To create, save, preview and let you download your CVs and cover letters (PDF and Word).
To provide optional AI writing help and job-tailoring when you request it.
To process payments and manage your 30-day or annual access window.
To run the referral programme and credit rewards.
To send you service messages (e.g. a reminder before your access lapses) and respond to support requests.
To keep the service secure and improve it.

AI features

When you use an AI feature (summary help, bullet points, tailoring, whole-CV polish, or CV import), the relevant text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate suggestions. AI is used only to rephrase and structure the information you provide — it does not add qualifications or experience you didn’t enter. You choose when to use these features; if you don’t use them, your content isn’t sent for AI processing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers needed to run CV263:

Paynow — to take payment.
Anthropic — to power AI features (only when you use them).
Google — if you choose to sign in with Google.
Our hosting provider — to run the website.
Recruitment263 — only if you opt in to be featured to employers on our sister job board. You can opt out any time.

Shareable CV links

If you turn on a public share link for a CV, anyone with that link can view that CV without logging in. You can switch the link off at any time from the builder, which makes it private again.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and documents while your account is active so you can come back and edit them. You can delete any CV or cover letter at any time, and you can ask us to delete your whole account. Files you upload for CV import are read to build your CV and are not stored afterwards.

Your rights

Under the Cyber and Data Protection Act you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online service can be 100% secure, so please use a strong password and keep your login details private.

Children

CV263 is intended for job seekers aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
